RIVER RAFTING
Summer time is perfect for making an adventure on the river. Clear Creek, Browns Canyon on the Arkansas, Shoshone on the Colorado and the Royal Gorge are all some of our favorite rivers to check out. Ask the front desk to help book your trip with a reputable guiding service!
River rafting, second to hiking of course, may be one of the most popular summer activities in Colorado, and for good reason. The summer sun in Colorado is hot, even though we have milder temps with our majestic mountains the heat of the sun during the day is legit. Rafting is a great activity that combines adrenaline and the ability to keep cool during those dog days of summer. Also while some athleticism is required rafting is much more approachable in comparison to other summer sports like mountain biking or rock climbing.
Many of our guests are here for the legendary biking and hiking and adding in a day or rafting to rest the legs makes a great addition to their stay in our Colorado vacation hotel. With epic rivers anywhere nearby including Clear Creek Canyon running into Golden and Le Cache Poudre running into Fort Collins you have world-class rafting options that can be done as easy day trips. If you are looking to tick off a few more rapids you can take longer day trips to the Arkansas as well.
Colorado Vacation Hotel
The Poudre is one of our favorites, not just because it is the closest by being further from Denver the Poudre valley is more quiet and the river offers a variety of difficulty options from top to bottom. The Lower Poudre rapids vary from beginner to intermediate, Class II rapids where when run with a professional guide on the right raft offer a thrilling yet appropriate experience for the family. The rapids on the Mishawaka Falls section of the Cache la Poudre are much more action-packed than the Lower Poudre, with drops that range from intermediate to advanced. This trip is for rafters 13 and older and everyone must come prepared to work as a team and paddle hard! Running the Full Poudre involves the stream channel rapids and is narrow and rocky. The current on the upper section is very swift almost continuous rapid that have waves that frequently break over the front of the rafts, making for a wet and wild trip.
When you stay with the A-Lodge you are staying at a true Colorado vacation hotel where the days are fill with mountains and streams and the evenings with family and friends!
