At A-Lodge Salida, we know that for many travelers, adventure doesn’t happen without their four-legged companion by their side. Whether it’s hiking together in the high country, playing in the river, or curling up after a long day on the trail, dogs are part of the journey—and part of our community.

That’s why we’ve made it a priority to create a welcoming environment not just for our guests, but for their pups, too. Our on-site dog park gives your trail buddy a dedicated space to stretch their legs, burn off some energy, and sniff out a few new friends along the way. It’s fully fenced, spacious, and designed with canine comfort and safety in mind—perfect after a long car ride or a big hike.

Whether you’re staying in one of our dog-friendly cabins, parking your RV under the pines, or pitching a tent near the creek, the dog run is just a short walk away. It’s a small amenity that makes a big difference—especially for dogs who need a little off-leash freedom after days spent adventuring. Whether your dog’s been cooped up in the car for hours or just needs to stretch after a night in the van, they’ll appreciate the freedom to run, sniff, and socialize safely.

The Salida location of A-Lodge was formerly the Salida/Mt. Shavano KOA, and we’re continuing to evolve the property with the outdoor-minded traveler (and their dogs!) in mind. Like our Boulder and Lyons locations, more adventure-forward amenities are coming soon—and that includes even more creature comforts for your four-legged companions.
