Boulder, Colorado is one of the premiere rock climbing destinations in the world. Glorious, low angle spires of the flatirons are ideal for the experienced multi-pitch climber. For the sport climber we recommend Boulder Canyon for the easy access and massive number of routes. For the die hard climber, it is hard to beat Eldorado Canyon with Boulder’s highest concentration of high quality trad climbs. For the boulderer, we recommend the easy access of Flagstaff, the beauty of the Satellite Boulders near the Flatirons, or for the die hard boulderer; Chaos Canyon in Rocky Mountain National Park! What it comes down to is Boulder is stacked with classic climbs almost everywhere you look! Check out our library of local guidebooks for more info.
The A-Lodge recommends Colorado Mountain School, Kent Mountaineering Adventure Center, Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides as great options for local guided climbing adventures.
We also rent crash pads and sell guide books at the front desk.
The climbing community is a tight knit group that supports each other in beautiful ways. We not only know the climbers in our local community but through the grandeur of international travel many of us have developed friends of every nationality all over the world.
Not only are the staff and owners of the Adventure Lodge dedicated rock climbers but one of our owners, Asa Firestone, has founded a non-profit, BEYONDGear, to inspire kids in Brazil’s Favelas to participate in the sport and benefit from all the good it provides. Not only the intimate connection to nature but more importantly the self-growth that occurs through challenging oneself and the sense of community felt by sharing this experience with others.
An Intimate International Community
On our property we want to create a type of rock climbing lodging in Boulder for climbers from around the country and around the world to come together and get to know each other. When you stay at the Adventure Lodge you will be surrounded by like-minded outdoor athletes so when you hit the pool after a day of climbing you can share stories of your day on the cliffs and get beta for what routes you want to get on tomorrow.
Who knows you may just end up making lifelong friends that inspire future trips to far-flung destinations but in the meantime you can enjoy having a beer on the pavilion while grilling your dinner all just steps from a comfy bed in the closest hotel to the cliffs of Boulder Canyon.
Our goal is to give you access to the best outdoor adventures that Boulder has to offer. Whether you’re climbing, fishing, skiing, cycling, hiking, or taking in the town, the A-Lodge offers instant access to all your favorite adventures and the right amenities to come home to after an exciting day off the beaten path. This is why our philosophy centers around the three A’s: Access, Adventure, Amenities.
