MOUNTAIN BIKING

Salida is a true mountain biking paradise, with some of the best singletrack in the state—and it all starts just minutes from your cabin, tent, or RV at A-Lodge. Whether you’re here for a quick rip after work or an all-day epic, the Arkansas Hills and Methodist Mountain trail systems deliver flowy descents, punchy climbs, and endless views of the Collegiate Peaks.

Our favorite way to kick off the ride? Hit the Frontside or North Backbone trails right from downtown for a fast, fun, and scenic loop. Looking for big miles? Head to Cottonwood Gulch or ride the legendary Monarch Crest Trail—a bucket list descent that starts above 11,000 feet and rolls through wildflower meadows, alpine forests, and fast, rocky singletrack for miles.

After your ride, roll back to A-Lodge Salida to rinse off, relax, and hang with other two-wheel junkies. Swap trail stories around the fire, grab a drink in town, or just chill creekside by your tent campsite. At A-Lodge, we’ve got everything you need to ride hard and rest easy in a community that lives for the ride.
