Boulder Hiking Vacation
There are so many great hiking trails in and around Boulder it would take years to explore them all. No matter what ability level, what level of adventure you seek or what time of year there are hikes to be done.
There are relatively flat and easy trails east of town, many on water including a wonderful trail around the Boulder Reservoir. There are trails up each of the mountains facing town including the massive Green Mountain with a whole network of trails. In fact some hard core hikers will link up all three in a major endurance hike event.
For those wanting more tame hikes the Chautauqua Park right in town has manicured trails that work their way up into the majestic Flatirons. If you are looking for a pure workout with no faff the Sanitas trail is practically straight up and you will be sure to see the exceptionally fit Boulder locals cruising up it and making it look easy.
Access, Amenities, Adventure
In the middle of summer you can head up towards Nederland and the Indian Peaks where the temperature can be 10 and even 20 degrees cooler. You can even bag a few 13,000 foot peaks in this range to get that high altitude scenery. In the middle of winter our plentiful sunshine provides many days with weather so nice you can be hiking in a tank top in January.
Be sure not to miss the hikes in the Eldorado Canyon State Park, the magnificent cliffs in this park are unlike any you have seen. Beautiful red sandstone hundreds of feet high that tower over the creek creating a stunning environment.
Our location in Boulder Canyon makes us the ideal place for a Boulder hiking vacation. When you stay at the adventure lodge you combine access to both the high country and the eastern slope with great hotel amenities in a lodge that is set in the mountains complete with pine trees and a mountain stream yet all just 10 minutes from great food and entertainment.
