SLACKLINE PARK
Have you ever seen an atomic human bounce, a squirrel back flip, or a space shuttle? These are not the tricks of Saturday morning cartoon characters, but maneuvers in slacklining – the latest craze at the A-Lodge. Slacklining is similar to tightrope walking but on a flat piece of tubular webbing tied between 2 support structures (anchors). Slacklining originated within the mountain climbing scene during the 80’s at Camp 4 in Yosemite. Its a perfect rest day activity.
Curious to try this addictive sport on your next getaway? Trees were once required, but the A-Lodge has installed poles to spare Mother Nature.
Nervous about high line trampoline tricks? A basic line is less than two feet off the ground, and at the A-Lodge, you’ll only topple into dirt, grass, or sand.
Non-Traditional Hotel Amenities
At the Adventure Lodge we are bringing together a collection of unique traditional hotel amenities and combining them with some non-traditional amenities to cater to a new breed of traveler. This new breed included adventure travelers and digital nomads who seek more from their time away than a traditional hotel can offer.
The Slackline Park is a great example of one of our non-traditional amenities. With lines of all height, length and difficulty it is a great place to work on your technique in a safe environment. After all you can’t bike all day, and you definitely can’t rock climb every day, you have to take a rest at some point and our Slackline Park gives you a great activity that is fun, improves balance and coordination and is located right on the property. For the more advanced venture out of Fourmile Creek and add an extra mental challenge.
Digital Nomad & Adventure Traveler
Slackline Parks have sprung up in all sorts of “adventure’ locations, some notable ones include Camp 4 in Yosemite National Park, Tonsai Beach in Thailand and an epic one spanning a massive open book in the cliffs of the Verdon Gorge in France, this last one the lines are hundreds of feet of the ground and require a tether to keep the walker safe.
A few other key offerings we have on the property that cater to the “adventure” traveler and digital nomad types are the dedicated van spots and tent platforms. These dedicated rental campsites and van sites are the closest you will find to Boulder and yet still immersed in a mountain setting. Combined with free Wi-Fi and a great place to plug in for work this is probably the best spot in the area to #vanlife it. With shower facilities and a hot tub and pool to keep clean and cool and community cook shelters and picnic tables you have more then the comforts of home. All with epic biking, climbing and skiing out your door and downtown Boulder just minutes away.
