WHO WE ARE

Asa Firestone

Asa Porter Firestone is the co-founder and CEO of A-Lodge Hospitality. An avid rock climber, entrepreneur, and community leader, Asa is focused on building the A-Lodge brand to capture more of the growing outdoor tourism market in the American West as well as giving back to the community through increased access to outdoor sports and experiences for under-served youth.

He is currently the President of the Boulder Hotel Motel Association and sits on the Economic Vitality Commission for the town of Lyons, Colorado. Elevation Outdoors Magazine named Asa “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the 2019 Best of the Rockies Awards. He is also recognized as a National Geographic Young Explorer for a first ascent big wall expedition in the Venezuelan Amazon. He co-founded three non-profit programs focused on introducing the outdoors to at-risk youth, Climb for Colorado, Adventure Forward, and Centro de Escalada Urbana which operates in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before creating A-Lodge, he founded BeyondGear, a social enterprise selling lifestyle gear to the outdoor community, as well as BeyondTalks, an adventure speaker series based in Boulder.

He received his MBA at USC Marshall in 2012 as a Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab Fellow and earned his BS in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005. When Asa is not working at A-Lodge he can be found deep in the mountains climbing, skiing, or ice climbing with his wife, Elysa, son, Rio, and dogs, Tufa and Ozzie.
