Camping at the A-Lodge and Climbing Boulder Canyon

Boulder Canyon Climbing

A shout out to all the traveling climbers out there: Come stay with us! Whether you are living the #vanlife or choose to hitchhike with a full rack, the A-Lodge should be your destination. We have two cozy campsites with access to bathrooms (one with a shower!) just minutes away from world-renowned climbing in Boulder Canyon.

Temps are prime for climbing in the shade right now and there are plenty of great north facing, shady crags in Boulder Canyon for all skill levels. Vampire Rock, Avalon, and Blob Rock all offer a variety of different styles on excellent granite found in the canyon. From crimpy faces to sticky slabs and hard roofs, you are sure to be pumped by beer o’clock!

Stop by the office for some great staff recommendations and feel free to browse or borrow from our selection of local and far flung guide books. Our favorite morning classics include Lust (10c) and Strange Science (11d) at Avalon (fun tyrollean creek crossing!) as well as Owl on the Prowl (11b) in Sport Park. In the afternoon head to the north side of the creek and hit Animation (8+) or Animal Magnetism (11c) at Animal World; the Young and the Reckless is a great 4 pitch 5.9 for those looking to get a great view high above the canyon. If you ask one of us for a solid crag (or a belay!) we are psyched to talk climbing!!

Come stay, climb, and relax by the creek here at the A-Lodge. The fish are biting and the water is sweet. We look forward to seeing you on your next climbing trip!
